Better By Bike has revamped the loan a bike scheme which will allow you to try an electric, foldable or hybrid bike for a whole month for free.

The idea behind the scheme is to help individuals in Bristol and the South West to get on a pedal bike and try different types before having to invest immediately.

Aside from the Loan Bike Scheme, Better By Bike also has free cycle training and maps, and a “buddy system” where more experienced riders can help new cyclists looking for a confidence boost or help with planning routes.

This website provides a fantastic service to the people of Bristol and the surrounding areas. It is brilliant to see incentives to swap to alternative transport, in an effort to improve health and air quality. The bespoke, personal features will certainly encourage more people to get cycling.

In addition to the above, the digital cycle planner can be particularly helpful with planning and finding faster and quieter routes across Bristol, as well as routes with a view across the whole of the West of England.

A news and events calendar is also available to keep up to date.

Better By Bike is funded by Bristol City, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire councils, which are supported by central government funding to help improve sustainable transport.
